Nichirei Fresh is building procurement and production system in order to supply carefully selected ingredients in the optimal format for the intended use from Japan and the rest of the world. We deliver a wide variety of ingredients through our global systems including shrimp, crab, octopus, squid, salmon, shellfish, fish eggs and other seafood, as well as chicken, pork, and beef. We deliver these ingredients to consumers via volume sellers, restaurant operators, and processed food manufacturers.
At Nichirei Fresh, we are building a quality assurance system grounded in supplier management and product control. The basis for the system is risk evaluation, which rationally and objectively evaluates the size of business risk and product risk.
When we start with a new factory, we conduct pre-audits based on risk evaluation. For our existing factories, we conduct periodic inspections based on risk evaluation, and issue instructions as needed. In addition, we carry out system inspections covering the whole production process at both factories and suppliers who handle premium quality ingredients.
To provide customers with accurate information, we create product labeling and product specifications , controlling the uniform by product information. Periodically, we also carry out monitoring checks for microbes and antibiotics based on risk evaluation.
